A: Gridiron Sports Development Inc. has been helping athletes, from beginner to elite, attain their athletic goals for over 11 years. We offer the most modern, safe and productive training sessions available in British Columbia. We believe we are the best at what we do!
Q: Gridiron Sports Development Inc., is that just football?
A: No. The Gridiron name first started in the realm of football, but we now have experience training athletes in hockey, basketball, track and field, rugby, soccer, volleyball and lacrosse. We have Sports-Specific Programs for football - Gridiron, basketball - Hoop Power and hockey - PlayMakerz and baseball - BaseballMAX.
Q: How do I know this training is right for me?
A: Only "you", the athlete, can decide if this is right for you. However, we offer a "free" consultation visit, where you can meet with Gridiron Trainers and have 1 complimentary training day. We are confident that if you are looking for athletic improvement, we have the program for you!
Q: My child has not reached puberty yet. Is it too early to strength train?
A: No. We design specific programs based on individual needs and for growing athletes. We start by helping young athletes develop balance, coordination and body awareness using their own body weight and resistance bands. Regardless of age, athletes should never start a weight training program until this is obtained. Physical growth and development occurs differently in each athlete and there are many ways to improve strength without weights.
Q: How long are training sessions and when do they start?
A: Training sessions are 1 hour long and include a dynamic warm-up and post session static stretch. Some of our senior programs are 1 hour and 30 minutes in duration due to the amount of athletes. Gridiron Sports Training is open all-year round, 7 days/week and only closes on certain statutory holidays. We have multiple programs that start during the first week of each month.
Q: What if I want to train 1-on-1 with a training specialist?
A: We offer specialized 1-on-1 sessions for serious athletes wanting that extra attention. Our base price for private sessions is $50/session* and is 1 hour in duration. (*prices may vary depending on the trainer). Inquire in person for more details.
Q: My son or daughter is a serious athlete wanting to obtain a post secondary scholarship. Can Gridiron help with this process?
A: Although we cannot guarantee athletic scholarships, we definitely point our athletes in the right direction. We have tremendous experience in obtaining scholarships in Canada and the United States. Our knowledge and experience is included in the training price and we believe athletics is a great way to obtain a post secondary education. We want you to succeed in life!
Q: I only have time to train 1 day/week. Can I still train?
A: Yes, of course! Although, we offer a lot of 2 and 3 days/week programs, we offer 1 day/week programs as well. For instance, if you currently take a Fitness & Weight Training course at high school, we offer Speed & Agility sessions once per week. We have something to fit your athletic needs!
